Powerful ‘The Chosen: The Last Supper’ Trailer
The powerful trailer for “The Chosen: The Last Supper” has been released. Judging by the short trailer, this will be an emotionally gripping and moving retelling of the last hours before Jesus is taken captive, tortured and eventually crucified. Watch the video to see the events leading up to Christ’s crucifixion, which includes Jesus angrily overturning the tables at the temple and Judas’ betrayal.
Without Jesus Christ’s torture and eventual death on the cross, none of us would have a chance. We’d all still be lost, living in sin and shame and staring down an eternity separated from him, filled with weeping and gnashing of teeth. But He went to the cross, died and rose again for you and me. Because of His death and bloodshed, we can be forgiven of sins, have hope and look forward to an eternity with Him.
However, just because Jesus understood what He needed to do for all humanity does not mean He was looking forward to it. In the hours before His arrest, He even prayed and asked God if it was possible to remove this fate from Him. In the trailer for “The Chosen: The Last Supper,” viewers are treated to Christ’s sense of dread and worry about what lay before Him as He breaks the news about what must happen to His disciples and followers.
The trailer also gives viewers a glimpse at several other events before His arrest, torture and death on Calvary. The trailer opens with Judas Iscariot speaking before he agrees to betray the Son of God for a mere 30 pieces of silver.
“You must know something; I do believe that Jesus is most likely the Messiah,” he says.
He adds that what he has witnessed has confirmed his belief that Jesus was and is the Savior. However, Judas adds he believes that he may “not have seen enough” as an explanation for his traitorous and deceitful actions.
The short but powerful trailer also shows Jesus angrily overturning the tables of the moneychangers at the temple. Additionally, the government leaders and powers that be angrily confront one another, saying how they do not want any part of what was about to unfold: Christ’s arrest, torture and public execution.
What an absolutely powerful look at the most important moment in history—one that changed everything for humanity.
