Disney Reimagines ‘Lilo and Stitch’ for a Live-Action Adventure

Disney has reimagined “Lilo & Stitch” for a live-action adventure. The beloved animated film has gotten a makeover, with a live-action version making its way to theaters. Watch the short clip to get a look at the new, updated version of the classic Disney film.

Hollywood is constantly looking for material to turn into films. They’ve got to keep new products coming if they want audiences to continue flocking to the theaters. Bestselling books are and likely always will be popular items that get the big screen treatment. In fact, many times, the film is already in the works even before the book hits the shelves.

Of course, sequels to financially successful films are a no-brainer for Hollywood. If it works one time, it will be done again and again until people quit showing up to purchase tickets. When that stops working, the film industry turns to remakes, and those have become quite popular, with Disney remaking and turning a handful of its animated films into live-action films.

The latest Disney classic animated film to get the live-action treatment is Disney’s 2002 movie “Lilo & Stitch.” Fans of the original cartoon flick will remember that Lilo is a young Hawaiian girl who badly wants a friend. As luck would have it, she soon finds a buddy in the form of Stitch, an alien, who finds his way to Earth. Hilariously, Lilo tries to pass the being from outer space as a dog.

The live-action version features the characters we all know and love and tons of laughs, heart and love. This is sure to be a film that the entire family will enjoy. The film opens on May 23 and hits theaters just before Memorial Day.

“Lilo & Stitch” is rated PG for “action, peril and thematic elements,” according to IMDB.
