Candace Cameron Bure Warns How Satan Uses Our Past to Hold Us Back

Candace Cameron Bure warns that Satan uses our past to hold us back. The actress, author and podcast host discussed a common attack used by the enemy. Watch the short but powerful clip to hear Candace mention how the devil will use past sins and mistakes to keep us from moving forward.

No one is perfect. Humans are a fallen and broken group, which is why Jesus Christ willingly went to the cross. He took the sins of humanity upon Himself to the cross, forever winning the victory over sin and death.

Even after accepting Christ’s love and forgiveness, humans are not perfect; they are just forgiven. While Christ may blot out our past and essentially forget our past sins and transgressions, we can often hold onto and dwell on previous stumbles and failures. Satan understands this and will use this to his advantage.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Candace explains how Satan works and what he does to try to keep us from fulfilling God’s will for our lives. She adds that a constant spiritual battle is happening all around us, with powerful, unseen forces at work.

“It is so eye-opening when I remember, like, this is not just about my flesh and blood, the here and the now, what I can see and feel, and who I’m talking to in this moment,” she said. “But there are other greater things at work that I cannot see in the spiritual realm.”

Later in the clip, Candace states that Satan is constantly attacking, always trying to steal souls by any means necessary.

“And the enemy is always fighting for our soul, and he’s poking at us from all different ways,” she said. “And a lot of times, that’s mentally. You know, he’s whispering lies into our minds to make us keep remembering things that God’s already forgiven us for.”

Ephesians 6:12 “For our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against authorities and powers, against the world-rulers of this dark night, against the spirits of evil in the heavens.”
