Christian family bluegrass band The Petersens recently delivered a moving live cover of ‘Jesus, Strong and Kind’ in a YouTube performance. The family sings with Australian artist Colin Buchanan, the song’s author, in a relaxed and peaceful setting before they go on stage in front of a crowd. “We had an opening act for our Australia shows and Colin Buchanan was THE most fun person to travel with,” the family said. “He wrote this song with CityAlight, and we loved learning and covering it with him backstage before our last show.”

“Jesus, Strong and Kind” is a wonderful song that’s written in the reflection of Jesus’ countenance. Some of the lyrics are:

The song highlights how Jesus sustains; he is a rock that everyone can rely on. He is completely irreplaceable. 

Each of the six Petersens plays a different instrument, and several of them harmonize with Colin as he leads them in song. The song sounds divine and lovely with all of the lovely string instruments. This kind of song is a far cry from one of those modern worship performances that can often be drowned out with drums and flashing lights; it’s still and slower, but gives God just as much praise. 

This song will undoubtedly fill your heart with peace and calm your spirit. It is such a beautiful reminder that no matter what we face, Jesus remains the same. We can always run to him.
