‘Amazing Grace’ on Pan Flute Is Beautiful

This cover of ‘Amazing Grace’ on pan flute is wonderful and almost otherworldly. It is simply elegant and beautiful—a reminder that even lyricless music can still be an act of worship. Watch the clip to hear the wonderful performance.

In the video posted on YouTube, Kazakhstan native David Döring stands in the beautiful Evangelical Church in Bad Nauheim, Germany. The sounds from his flute echo in the light-filled auditorium, which has high ceilings and plenty of space to amplify the beautiful sound. Döring’s unique instrument offers windy, air-filled notes that are long and sweet.

As you listen to the song, you’ll be reminded of its simple and moving lyrics:

Amazing grace! how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch; like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

‘Amazing Grace’ is one of those powerful Christian hymns that moves you no matter where or how you hear it. We are all given God’s unending grace, one of the sweetest gifts we could ever receive. Without it, we are like blind lambs, bound to be ravaged by predators or fall to our deaths if it were not for our kind, grace-filled shepherd and savior who forgives us and leads the way. We don’t deserve this heavenly gift, but God gives it freely nonetheless.

We should never forget God’s remarkable gift of grace and praise him for it. He created us, and even when we sinned against him, he chose to save us with the ultimate act of grace by sending his beloved son, Jesus.

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2-corinthians 12:9
