Kid’s Funny Confusion Over Song Lyrics Is Too Good to Miss

A kid’s funny confusion over a popular song’s lyrics is too good to miss. The young woman refused to sing the tune this way, even though that is typically how this one particular song is usually performed. Watch the short but hysterical clip to hear which song had the little girl a tad bit confused, and her sweet, adorable reasoning.

Most people would rather entirely ignore their birthdays, especially as they age. For many individuals, a year should consist of 364 days, leaving out the day of their birth. But that’s not really how time and calendars work. Both move forward regardless of our feelings on the topic of aging.

Knowing there is nothing we can do to rewind, pause or even slow down time, we might as well enjoy it and recognize those birthdays. Of course, part of birthday celebrations includes being serenaded by individuals performing “Happy Birthday.” That’s a song that everyone is familiar with, but as one clip shows, that tune caused some confusion for one little lady.

In the clip posted on YouTube, the little girl and her older brother are sitting on the steps as they face the camera and prepare to sing “Happy Birthday” for their mother. But before they do, the older brother has instructions for the little girl.

“Charlotte, you have to sing, “Happy birthday to you,” he tells her.

She shoots back immediately with an absolutely hilarious and cute response.

“No, it’s not my birthday!” she answers. “No, Mom, it’s not my birthday. It’s mommy’s birthday.”

Despite her explanation, the young man tries once again to tell her what to sing, but it does not work. The two children proceed with their musical performance, with the young lady singing what she believes to be the correct lyrics to “Happy Birthday.”
