Watch actor Jim Caviezel in the first look at epic new film "Zero A.D." The new, upcoming movie looks at the cold, cruel and bloodthirsty King Herod ahead of the arrival of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. Watch the short, but powerful clip to see the official trailer for "Zero A.D."
Jesus Christ forever changed everything for you, me and all of humanity. He went to the cross, suffered, died and willingly took our place and endured our punishment. His death and resurrection bridged the gap, the divide between God and man, which sin had caused.
Christ's death, resurrection and birth are occasions annually recognized and celebrated by Christians worldwide. How could you not celebrate and jump for joy at the thought of the Savior's birth and impending arrival? Someone sent from God to save humanity from its sins, how could that not be exciting and something to look forward to? However, as the Bible makes clear, that was not the case for everyone, especially for King Herod.
"Zero A.D." tells the story of the birth and arrival of the Savior, Jesus Christ. The film also examines Herod, played by Jim Caviezel, who sought to have the King of Kings killed. Mary, Joseph, and the three wise men were all well aware of Herod's deadly and dangerous motivation for learning of the child's whereabouts and did what they could to avoid providing him with the information that he so desperately sought.
Herod feared losing his throne, power and all the earthly glory and honor that came with his kingship. He believed there was one and only King: himself. Anyone and everyone referred to as King would most certainly feel Herod's wrath.
In addition to Jim Caviezel, Sam Worthington, Ben Mendelsohn and Gael García Bernal star in "Zero A.D." The Angel Studios-produced film opens in theaters on Dec. 19.
Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
