This man’s hilarious shoe test is too funny to miss. He was trying on new shoes and decided to run them through a specific kind of test before making his purchasing decision. People generally do not enjoy tests. For students, test-taking is likely one of their least enjoyable activities. Most of them would probably rather do anything other than take a test, like go to another pointless, horribly boring and mind-numbing schoolwide assembly. Students would rather listen to another awful, monotone guest speaker drone on and on about the dangers of drugs and alcohol than take a test.

While many students and the rest of society hate being tested, it’s still, unfortunately, necessary. How else are we supposed to figure out what we know and what we can do unless we are tested and put into a situation where we demonstrate whether we have adequately grasped and implemented the material? Testing isn’t fun and typically hurts, causing many people to moan and grumble.

In a clip posted on social media, a man was perusing new shoes when he decided to run his own test. He and his wife wanted to find out what the shoes could do, if they would hold up under specific conditions.

Once he’s secured the shoes on his feet, the woman behind the camera proposes a situation to him. She dares him to “do a speed test down that aisle right there.” Initially, he’s a little confused about what she’s talking about, but then he offers reasons why he cannot do a “speed test.”

“I can’t run that fast anymore,” he says. “I’m too old.”

Eventually, though, he gives in and responds to her dare, darting up and down the aisle, likely to the amusement of everyone else in the store. It’s unclear if those shoes were the ones he went home with or not.
