Tim Hawkins’ Hilarious Bit on Singing the Wrong Lyrics Will Have You in Stitches
Tim Hawkins’ hilarious bit on singing the wrong lyrics will have you in stitches. The popular funnyman points out some beloved, well-known songs to which he had been singing the wrong words for quite some time. Watch the short but hysterical clip to hear the songs Tim had gotten very wrong, and the lyrics he sang instead.
Music, like food, is one of the few universally loved things. We may not be able to agree on much in today’s very divided, polarized times, but music has a high approval rating. Everyone loves music. There is literally a genre and a style for every taste and preference. Can you even think of someone who dislikes music and would rather go through life in complete silence, without the addition of music? I can’t, and I hope you can’t either. That would be a miserable individual.
We can all agree that music is fantastic, and we all like to sing along to certain songs when they come on the radio. However, have you ever thought you might be singing the wrong lyrics? This is bound to happen occasionally, but hopefully, you correct it and do not let it go too long. That would just be embarrassing. In a clip posted on YouTube, Tim admits there are some recognizable and iconic songs that he has been getting wrong for a while.
The first song he mentions is Elton John’s classic, “Rocket Man.” He really got the chorus wrong. It wasn’t even close, and I’m not even sure how he could have thought those were the words. It doesn’t make sense with the rest of the song. But either way, it’s still terribly amusing.
Next is America’s classic, “A Horse with No Name.” Tim points out that this wasn’t him, but his brother, who invented lyrics for this tune. Again, this is hilarious, but given the song’s name, getting the words that wrong is a bit of a head scratcher.
He also points out how there are songs that have some really dumb and obvious lyrics. It just shows that if you include some catchy, upbeat, toe-tapping music, people will overlook poorly written and nonsensical lyrics.
Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
