Comedian Michael Jr. hilariously imagined Mary and Joseph praying after realizing they had lost Jesus. His take on the earthly parents of Jesus reaching out to God after losing their son will have you laughing long after the clip ends. We are all sinners and have fallen well short of God’s glory, as the Bible mentions. While we may be sinners and have openly defied God and His commands, Jesus Christ is the x-factor, the difference maker. He has changed everything, giving hope where there was none. He offers forgiveness and love to all who confess their sins and turn away from their old lives.

The Bible’s New Testament captures Christ’s ultimate, life-changing sacrifice, how He willingly went to the cross, suffering and dying in our place. But that isn’t the only event the Bible details in Christ’s life on Earth. When he was 12 years old, while traveling with Mary and Joseph to Jerusalem, Jesus stayed behind in the city. Mary and Joseph weren’t aware that Jesus had done this for a day or so, as mentioned in Luke. Basically, they had lost Him.

In a clip posted on social media, Michael Jr. imagines what Joseph and Mary might have sounded like when they prayed to God after realizing that Jesus was missing.

“You know the first thing they had to do was pray,” he said. “I wonder what that prayer must have sounded like. Joseph probably did the prayer. He was like, ‘Oh God. Dear God, oh forgiving God. You remember that Messiah you gave us? You got another one somewhere, man? That was the only begotten Son? Ok, we’re going to find Him.  We’re going to find Him. We’re going to find Him.”

How do you reach out to God and say that you have lost His one and only Son? That wouldn’t have been a fun prayer to have to make.
