Where would you be if not for the powerful, life-saving grace of Jesus Christ? That’s a scary thought, isn’t it? Most people, even though they may be hurting and struggling, remain on the broad and heavily populated path that leads to death and destruction. They may be searching everywhere and everywhere for an answer, a relief to their pain, but they come up empty each time.
But Christ, for no reason other than His unending love for us, has forgiven us. We did nothing and never could do anything to earn or be worthy of that life-saving gift.
William and Danni, in their performance of “I Saw the Light,” sing about the difference Christ makes in the lives of sinners. The song is essentially a before–and–after—what life was like living in sin and what it's been like since Jesus Christ entered the picture. As the lyrics make it entirely clear, the difference couldn’t be any more different.
“I saw the light, I saw the light
No more darkness, no more night
Now I’m so happy, no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord, I saw the light”
This is a wonderfully catchy and upbeat performance. Listen long enough, and you’ll likely find yourself tapping your toe and singing right along with the two musicians. It is a performance worthy of repeated listens and viewings.
Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
