Weddings are always emotional, tear-jerking occasions. They’re ceremonies in which the attendees witness the bonding and formation of a family. Standing in front of God, their family and friends, the two individuals vow to remain with one another for the rest of their lives. Of course, witnessing something so monumental and life-changing is bound to make many people tear up.

While the wedding day is about the bride and groom, many more people are involved in and impacted by the vows made and exchanged in front of the altar. Getting married is a big moment, but the bride and groom’s lives are the only ones whose lives will dramatically change.

In a clip posted on social media, a little girl shared a special message for her dad on a loudspeaker right before the ceremony. It was sweet, simple, and funny, reminding us that the wedding doesn’t just impact a bride and the groom.

“Hello, Daddy, it’s me, Evie,” she said. “I’m walking down the aisle. I see you now because you’re going to marry my mummy, and she looks beautiful like me. We love you so much, to the moon and back.”

At this point in the little girl’s message, the groom is overwhelmed with emotion. He keeps wiping his eyes, but it doesn’t help; the tears keep coming.

“We love you lots and lots like jelly tots,” she continues. “See you in a minute! See ya don’t want to be ya. See you, alligator.”

That is a moment and a message that father will remember for the rest of his life.
