Candace Cameron Bure Opens Up About Accepting Christ and Her Faith Journey
Actress, author and podcast host Candace Cameron Bure opened up about accepting Jesus Christ and her faith journey. She provided details about how and when her walk with Christ started and the event that caused her to deepen her faith and seek God’s will. Check out the video to hear Candace’s powerful testimony.
Candace, along with her older brother Kirk Cameron, is one of the most outspoken Christian celebrities. She frequently shares and talks about their faith in Jesus Christ. She hosts a popular podcast in which she and her guests talk about faith, marriage, being a parent and society.
The Full House actress does not shy away from speaking out about Jesus Christ and how He can and does change lives. She does it so frequently that you would think she grew up in an overly Christian household. However, as Candace shares in a video posted on YouTube, that was not the case. In fact, her faith in Jesus Christ actually came about because her parents’ marriage was on the verge of coming to an end.
“A lot of people assume, rightly so, because I am bold in my faith, and my brother Kirk is also very much known for his faith and ministry, but yeah, the first time I ever went to church, I was 12 years old,” she said. “My mom was always a believer, but my dad wasn’t and didn’t want religion in our home and thought that we should decide when we were 18.”
When she was 12, Candace says her parents were considering a divorce. That’s when a family friend suggested her parents go to church and attend counseling through the church. From that point, Candace and her family went to church every week. One Sunday, during the pastor’s sermon, Candace accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior.
Years later, at age 22, Candace gave birth to her first child, and her faith deepened. She sought God’s will for her life.
“And I was a new mom; I was 22 years old,” she said. “And I started thinking about, well, what am I going to teach her about God? And I realized at that moment that I really didn’t know anything about God.”
That moment sent her on a path of discovery and studying God’s Word. Candace’s faith and walk with the Lord started to deepen.
James 4:8 “Come near to God, and he will come near to you. Make your hands clean, you evildoers; put away deceit from your hearts, you false in mind.”
