A barrier intended to keep critters away from a bowl of food was no match for one determined and athletic squirrel in a hilarious clip.

Animals are unquestionably some of the most fascinating and unique creatures you’ll encounter on Earth. Considering their hysterical antics and hijinks, it’s no wonder there are entire television networks dedicated to them. When an animal is involved, always be sure to expect the unexpected.

We can never be entirely sure how an animal will react to any given situation. A new environment and being around new individuals will likely cause that critter to respond in a wholly new and unexpected way. But then again, we can never be quite sure either.

While all animals are unique and have a personality that is all their own, one thing is true for nearly every animal on Earth: they all love to eat. Likely, their favorite activity (right next to sleeping) is consuming food and filling their stomach to their heart’s content.

Regarding food, it’s best not to stand in their way. Most of them become incredibly determined and will do whatever it takes to get a bite to eat. A short but absolutely hilarious clip posted on YouTube perfectly captures one critter’s ironclad resolve, doing whatever it took to get some food.

The clip shows a filled bird feeder, which appears ready for any outdoor creature to enjoy, including birds. However, a white circular gadget sits before the plate, likely to keep other animals from chowing down on the bird food. But as we soon see, it was no match for one squirrel.

As the video begins, a squirrel makes its way to the feeder. It must be dinnertime, and that critter sees some food! But it encounters the white circular device.

However, after a few failed and hilarious attempts to overcome the barrier, the squirrel displays its athletic ability, which eventually helps it overcome that barrier and get to the food.
