Heartwarming First Date Moment Shows Chivalry Is Far from Dead

A heartwarming first date moment captured on video shows that chivalry is far from dead.

Marriage is easily one of the best things about life. Most people who are married will wholeheartedly agree. A marriage can and does have its ups and downs, as does every relationship. However, finding the right person can be a complicated, long, drawn-out and discouraging process. Dating, of course, is how people search for “the one,” the individual they will eventually marry.

Today, thanks to technological advancements, many people have apps on their phones that can help them find potential dates. However, the success or failure of those relationships still depends on the quality of the person.

Chivalry, or treating someone with respect and kindness, shouldn’t be that difficult. But, at times, it can feel like it’s completely dead and an old bygone idea. However, one young man heading out on his first date proves that is not true.

In the short, 46-second video, one mother sits in her vehicle, which is parked behind her son’s car, recording him as he steps out of the car and approaches his date’s house. Text in the middle of the screen informs viewers that this is her son’s first date.

The young man holds a bouquet of flowers in each hand – one for the young woman he is taking out and her mother. Before he gets to the door, the young girl is spotted coming out the door, but she is not the only person who emerges from the house. Her dad also steps outside, wanting to meet the young man who will be taking his daughter out that night.

Later in the clip, the two young people – the young man and the lady – cross the road and approach his vehicle. Instead of simply getting in the car himself, he walks over to the other side of the vehicle, where she is, and opens the car door for her.

What a beautiful moment capturing the actions of a young man who has been taught well.

Ephesians 4:32 “And be kind to one another, full of pity, having forgiveness for one another, even as God in Christ had forgiveness for you.”
