Tim Hawkins' Hysterical Tune About Being a Father

Christian comedian Tim Hawkins has shared his hysterically funny and original tune about being a father. Tim’s song about fatherhood will have you doubled over from laughing and probably leave you gasping for air. It’s a song that is both hilarious and very relatable.

When children enter your life, it will never be the same again. Becoming a parent is a significant, life-changing role. The responsibilities that come with being called “Mom” or “Dad” are monumentally important and sometimes can feel overwhelming.

Once someone becomes a parent, everything they say and do has added significance and weight. Parents are entrusted with teaching, guiding and directing a child. Children are always watching and listening, even when it may appear that they are not paying attention. Kids pick up on a lot more than some people would like to think.

However, those who aren’t parents may have difficulty relating simply because they don’t have children. But with his hilarious song, Tim tries to explain and shares some insight into some of the joys that come with being a parent, specifically a father.

In the clip posted on Instagram, Tim explains before performing the song that it’s about “just being a dad.” He also adds that it’s a tune that God gave him, basically putting it in his lap.

The music, melody and even Tim's singing of the lyrics all sound like something James Taylor, Jim Croce or some other beloved singer-songwriter would perform. It’s a very smooth, easy-listening song. The lyrics are about an instance in which Tim’s little boy approached him with a serious but difficult question.

The youngster’s question: “Which one of us, children, do you love the best?”

Using his wit and comedic talent, Tim takes the song in a completely different but hilarious direction and answers the child in the best and most hysterical way possible. His answer to his little boy’s inquiry leaves the audience rolling with laughter.
