Sales, of any kind, is a challenging field. For the right type of person, someone suited to that industry, sales can be a very lucrative career. However, it is also a very unpredictable field. It can be a very feast or famine job, where sales come in bunches and then not at all.

Due to the often unpredictable nature of a position in sales, it can be a competitive field. Most customers only have a limited amount of money to spend on a particular item, so salespeople must do what they can to attract and win over their business. This can lead to cutthroat and even shady business practices as companies and salespeople compete against one another for a client’s business.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett hilariously demonstrate the competitive environment that accompanies a job in sales. The two funny women play customer service representatives for car rental companies at an airport. Both are desperate to attract every dollar. They will essentially do and say anything, even if it means disparaging their competitor.

Hilariously, as the clip shows, Carol cannot even win her father’s business. He opts to go with his daughter’s competitor. He may have hurt her feelings and bruised her ego, but at least he saved a buck, right?

Anyway, soon enough, Tim comes along and needs a car. He doesn’t have a preference. He needs something to drive. Well, Tim finds himself in the middle of a literal game of tug-and-war between Carol and Lucille. Both desperately want his business.
