Tim Conway Brings Big Laughs as the Smallest Jockey on Johnny Carson’s Show

Tim Conway brought big laughs as the smallest jockey on Johnny Carson’s show. The comedic legend once again tickles the funny bone, causing Johnny and his studio audience to roar with laughter. Check out the short clip of Tim that will have you doubled over with laughter from beginning to end.

In sports and physical activity, height is typically always an advantage. In basketball, taller players are closer to the basket, helping to reduce the difficulty of putting the ball through the hoop. In football, a quarterback who is taller rather than shorter can survey the field and find the open receiver more easily. Height can also be helpful to a player in baseball and soccer.

However, height isn’t crucial when considering every sport. For instance, shorter, lighter jockeys are much more preferred when it comes to horse racing. But they still have to have legs long enough to reach either side of the horse when sitting on top of the animal.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Tim, as Lyle Dorf, makes another hysterical appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Lyle demonstrates several stretching exercises that allow him to stay in shape and limber, much to the absolute delight of Johnny and those in the audience.

Lyle also gives Johnny some inside knowledge of how he likes to ride and guide his horse during the race. With exaggerated movements, leaning to the left and right, Lyle goes against conventional knowledge, doing what most other jockeys do not.

Tim was an absolute comedic genius, making entire audiences crack up with a single look or movement. Even Johnny Carson could not withstand Tim Conway's comedic timing and skills, often bursting into laughter during those iconic Dorf segments.

In the earlier part of the clip, Tim sits down with Johnny, giving him some background and inside knowledge about his career in comedy and show business.
