Christian comedian Brad Stine’s hysterical take on Adam’s attempt at naming all the animals is pure gold.

Genesis, the first book of the Bible, describes the world before sin appeared as a literal heaven on Earth. There was no evil, hatred or corruption. There was Adam, Eve and all the animals enjoying life in the Garden of Eden.

However, after God created Adam and placed him in the garden, He had a special and unique task for Adam. Genesis chapter two states the Lord brought the animals to Adam, wanting him to name them.

The Creator of the universe comes to you and asks that you name all the critters of the sea, air and land. That is a tall task! You better not mess this up.

Brad hilariously explains that Adam was under tremendous pressure and may not have done so well when selecting the animals' names.

“Think about that. Can you imagine having to name every animal there ever was and give it a creative name?” Brad asked. “That would be hard. That’s why so many animal names are stupid.”

Later in the clip, Brad offers a possible reason why some names are less than perfect.

“Adam got burnout. He gave out all the good names right off the bat,” he said. “You shall be ‘hippopotamus.’ Big 12-letter, creative name. Ten hours later: ‘Cow. Cow, I guess.’”

Brad specifically mentions how Adam dropped the ball when naming the insects.

“By the time the bugs got in line, he just named them whatever they were doing,” Brad said. “Fly. Of all the amazing things that fly in this world, Fly got the name. That’s when God stepped in, ‘I’ll take it from here, Adam, thanks anyways.’”
