Sadie Robertson Huff's Powerful Words on Embracing God's Guidance

Actress, podcast host and speaker Sadie Robertson Huff shared a powerful message about embracing and following God’s guidance and direction.

A big part of being a Christian is trusting and relying upon God to deliver even when the path forward and the outcome appear murky and unclear. Having a strong, unyielding faith in God is crucial. The Bible makes this abundantly clear when, in 2 Corinthians, it is written that “we walk by faith, not by sight.”

As everyone knows, this can trip up many people and lead them to second-guess God and His plan at times. It’s much easier to walk down a path when we can see its beginning, middle and end; when we can’t tell where we’re going, trouble, doubts and second-guessing start to come into play and enter our minds.

In a clip posted on social media, Sadie, while addressing a group of college graduates, shares a powerful message of going where God may lead and prod them even when the way forward appears muddled and unclear. She encouraged the students to remember that even when the future may seem unknown, God will “light up the next step.”

Sadie mentioned receiving an oil lamp from a pastor’s wife and then remembering Psalm 119:105. That verse states, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” Initially, she was shocked that the lamp did not give off much light.

It was then that she truly understood that verse, she said. God will not always show you the end of the path. However, He will shine a light on the next step.

“But God will light up the next step,” Sadie told the students. “Trust Him with the next step.”

That’s a powerful message for graduating students and everyone facing unknowns. God will guide and direct. Have faith and trust in Him.

Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all thy heart; and lean not to thy own understanding.”
