The Isaacs Captivate with Beautiful 'What A Friend We Have In Jesus' Cover

An incredibly talented, award-winning family of musicians, The Isaacs, captivated with their beautiful cover of “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.”

Hymns are some of the best, most emotional pieces of music. They are also some of the best-written songs you’ll ever come across. Hymns tell of Christ’s love, forgiveness, mercy and grace in ways that other songs do not.

In addition to the emotion and message conveyed in those well-written tunes, they are severely underutilized. Many churches have moved away from the old hymns, choosing to use more contemporary Christian music. Churches and congregations can listen and play whatever they like, but nothing will ever beat “Great is Thy Faithfulness,” “How Great Thou Art,” “Amazing Grace” or any other hymn.

Given this trend away from hymns, it’s always a treat to see and hear someone sing one of those old tunes. In a clip posted on YouTube, The Isaacs dazzled with a lovely cover of “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.” Their vocal performances are wonderful, full of emotion and feeling about Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.

The song’s opening verse and lyrics are simple but memorable and very powerful.

“What a friend we have in Jesus

All sins and griefs to bear

What a privilege to carry

Everything to God in prayer”

The group’s outstanding performance and the song’s lyrics are terrific reminders of the loving and mighty God we serve. While we may try to go through difficulties and certain situations on our own, we are only adding to our burdens and heartaches. If we could only get out of our own way and ask Him for assistance, Christ will work in that situation and take care of everything.

Psalm 55:22 “Put your cares on the Lord, and he will be your support; he will not let the upright man be moved.”
