COVENTRY CAROL is performed by Stan Norton and Janis Newbold of First Baptist Church of St. Charles, Mo. Sanctuary Orchestra. Janis is talented pianist for FBCSC. Brad Newbold is Minister of Music and Media. COVENTRY CAROL is named after city of Coventry, England where it was written and performed in the 16th century. The haunting carol represents the massacre of the innocents wherein Herod orders all male infants in Bethlehem be killed. The carol is a mother's lament for her doomed child.
