Help Mariano, Pray and donate if you can

Mariano Cruz Plasencia, turned 10 on April 2nd, 2010. Mariano is a bright loving child who enjoys playing sports, fishing and listening to music. He is the 2nd youngest of four siblings. On May 1st Mariano started a new medication for his ADHD, called Lamictal. He seemed fine.

On May 8th, Mariano was swimming with his siblings when his mother noticed his he had a rash under his arm; she thought it was a heat rash or effect of chlorine. On Sunday his eyes started to look reddish and by Monday his eyes were swollen shut with bumps and redness through the body. The pediatrician diagnosed he had conjunctivitis and strep throat. The doctor said the bumps were bug bites. His grandmother started him on the antibiotics and eye drops prescribed by the doctor. He showed no improvement in fact he was worse and was rushed to the ER. They ran tests on him and on Thursday May 13th the doctors concluded he had Steven Johnsons Syndrome.

Mariano has been in the ICU ever since unable to see, eat or drink and in immense pain. His mother was laid off and was working at a new job until all this happened. The family is really struggling to provide his care, and still be able to support their home for the rest of the siblings. His mother has not left the hospital since this all started. The following video is a video I made of him with some photos. If your are sensitive to certain images then please do not watch the whole video as some of the photos are very graphic. Please imagine this is your son, nephew, grandson, cousin, or friend. Please if you cannot donate the minimum of a dollar, then pray for him and please pass this along to all your friends.
