A Dream Come True

A Dream Come True

It took me 40 years to finally get to live a dream I had since I was a kid. On July 3, 2006 I got to sing the National Anthem at the Washington Wild Things baseball game in Washington, Pa. in front of a sold out stadium of 3,000.

When you sing a note, there is a split second delay before it comes through the sound system in a stadium, plus the sound echoes. I had never even practiced singing with a delay before, and it threw me off at first, and then I was trying to be careful not to make any more mistakes.

Between the previous line and the bridge that goes "...and the rockets red glare..." I heard a voice in my head that said "...enjoy this.....slow down.....just SING!" and I was fine from then on as you can see.

It was the most calming feeling, and it was like that voice said "use what talent I gave you".

I coached a softball team of girls all under the age of 10, including my two daughters, and the team is on the field while I sang. They did not know I was going to do it. I was trying to show them to overcome your fears and anxiety and use what God has given you.

This isn't the best version of the National Anthem you will ever hear, but it meant a ton to me. Thanks for the talent!
