Biblical Hebrew Lesson 29 - Weqatal Verbs | by eTeacherBiblical

In this lesson we return to our discussion of Hebrew verbs. As with the other forms, we have named this fourth verb pattern "Weqatal" after the 3ms form of the verb (וְקָטַל).
The Weqatal form is also known as a "suffix conjugation", because the subject pronoun of the verb is attached to the basic form, as a suffix. In fact, the Weqatal form is identical to the Qatal form, with a prefixed conjunction ו.
We read several verses, for example when God speaks to Moses from the burning bush....
