Historical Night of Prayer
In the mist of a devastated community residence of St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana representing more than ten churches came together for a night of corporate prayer to cry out to God on behalf of their land and those running for political office. What makes this historical is the fact that pre-Katrina this type of meeting never occurred, nor would anyone have considered such a coalition of African-American, Hispanic and Caucasian churches coming together. Enhancing this event is the fact that on Saturday residence of St. Bernard will vote in the first major election since Hurricane Katrina hit the Parish.
