Mavis Hancock was wife of 60 years to a Texas legislator and businessman. She was business saavy, avante garde, indomitable. She served on Governor Shivers' Texas Gubernatorial inaugural committee in the fifties. She co-founded and served as director at HAA, Inc. for 30 years. She was fashionable, stylish, business minded, creative, and educated. She was mother to 3 strong willed children. Her greatest legacy was her faith. A benevolence fund has been established to honor her life. The fund will be used to reach many of those less fortunate for Christ in and around Nacogdoches County.
