Leo Buscaglia Shares Powerful Poem About Cherishing Today
Leo is mostly widely known as ‘Dr. Love.’ He was a popular author and even a professor in the Department of Special Education at the University of Southern California.
During one of his live talks, he shared a poem he received from a woman in one of his classes. It was during the Vietnam War and the poem was so powerful that Leo decided to share it with the entire crowd.
It starts off with a list of things that someone ‘didn’t do.’ “Remember the day I borrowed your brand new car and dented it? I thought you’d kill me, but you didn’t.”
The poem continues on like this for a few more lines. The author realizes the thought and care that their significant other has for them. But then, we learn that the significant other has gone to fight in The Vietnam War.
The author vows to show them when they return home just how much all of these acts mean to her. But sadly, the soldier never returns home and there is no chance to say ‘thank you’ or ‘I love you.’
