The man singing in this video is Kaoma Chende, and he does such a wonderful job signing all parts of this hymn! On his YouTube page, he says that this particular song was one of his father’s favorites. “He loved singing this one, especially the chorus,” he writes.

The hymn ‘I Surrender All’ was written by American art teacher and musician Judson W. Van DeVenter. He published more than 60 hymns in his lifetime, but ‘I Surrender All’ is his most famous. The words of the song were then put to music by Winfield S. Weeden and published in 1896.
