Classic Performance Of 'Amazing Grace' From Glen Campbell

Enjoy a nostalgic worship performance from country legend Glen Campbell as he sings ‘Amazing Grace.’

Authored by John Newton, this beloved hymn was written as a way of giving thanks to the Lord after God granted John new life. As a sailor, John was known for his crude language and actions.

But one day at sea, John found himself caught in the middle of a terrible storm. John spent hours at the helm of the ship battling the waves and his thoughts started to turn to God.

After surviving the weather, John started his life as a Christian and dedicated himself to serving the Lord. The beautiful words of ‘Amazing Grace’ were inspired by this incredible moment of self-revelation.

“Amazing Grace,
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now am found
T'was blind but now I see”

Glen Campbell was a beloved country artist known all around the world for his musical talent. His songs, such as ‘Rhinestone Cowboy’ and ‘Southern Nights’ earned him much praise.

He enjoyed a long career full of success and admiration. Sadly, the world lost this great artist in 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Today, we are taking a look back at Glen’s iconic performance of ‘Amazing Grace’ from the 1984 Dove Awards.

What a beautiful moment of praise and worship to our King.

Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
