Dog Gives Back Scratches to His Doggie Friend

Dogs may be man’s best friend, but when it comes to that really itchy spot on a pup’s backside, only another dog knows exactly which back scratches feel best. Watch as this dog gives back scratches to his canine companion.

You may think you have a good best friend, but you might question the strength of your friendship after you see the bond shared by these two dogs.

Don’t believe me? Ask yourself this question: would my best friend scratch my itchy back while I lay down in a 7-11 parking lot? If you think your friend would do this--congratulations! That’s one crazy powerful friendship you have there. And if not, don’t feel too badly, it may just be because your friend is a human. (And we do not recommend you lay down in the parking lot of your nearest convenience store to test this theory.)

For this pup, however, the answer was yes! Clearly, these two have found true friendship, a real treasure that should be cherished forever.

While we all know dogs can only talk in Hollywood movies, scientists have found that many dogs communicate with one another with body language and physical gestures.

This leads us to wonder, are we correctly interpreting our own dogs when they try to communicate with us?

Luckily for you, we’ve come up with theories for some commonly misunderstood doggie gestures to ensure you and your canine can communicate to the best of your abilities.

We’ve all seen a dog chase his own tail in a circle, and while this may seem like your dog is feeling playful, did you know this could actually be your dog expressing his discomfort with the current state of the economic climate?

What about a gesture even more common: panting. We have all been led to believe panting is how overheated dogs cool themselves off. But what if I were to tell you panting could actually be how dogs express their late-night cravings for Breyers rocky road ice cream?

OK. Maybe these are just my own dog’s opinions. And he’s been known to drink out of a toilet, so maybe I’m reading into this.

Understanding a dog can really be a challenge for us two-legged folk, but it’s okay. You may not be able to understand them as well as another dog could, but they will always love you just the same.

And in the meantime, watching this sweet video of how one pup cares for another reminds us that we’re called to care for one another in much the same way.

And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
1 John 4:21
