'More Than A Name On A Wall' The Petersens Sing Moving Military Tribute

The Petersens perform a moving military tribute with their live performance of ‘More Than A Name On A Wall.’ This powerful song was written by Jimmy Fortune and John Rimel. It was originally recorded by The Statler Brothers for their 1989 Greatest Hits album. “She said Lord my boy was special, And he meant so much to me And Oh I'd love to see him Just one more time you see” The Petersens are a family band from Branson, Missouri. This bluegrass ensemble has traveled all around the world sharing their musical talents, but you can normally find them at home in Branson. For ten seasons, The Petersens have performed at the Little Opry Theatre in the Branson IMAX Entertainment Complex. Today, they are sharing a live performance of the classic song ‘More Than A Name On A Wall.’ “All I have are the memories And the moments to recall So Lord could you tell him, He's more than a name on a wall.” On YouTube, the band wrote about the inspiration behind covering this moving song. “Both our grandpas served in the military and we grew up with our dad serving over 23 years in the Air Force. We are so grateful for all the men and women that paid the ultimate sacrifice and for their families that continue to honor their memory.” John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
