Sadie Robertson Says 'Stop Obsessing' Over Who Follows You And Follow Jesus

Sadie Robertson has an important message when it comes to social media. She wisely advises people to ‘stop obsessing’ over who follows you, and just follow Jesus!

For some people, when they know someone famous is going to be in town, they go to concerts or stand outside the building just to get a glimpse of them. They swap stories at dinner parties of the most famous people they ever met. They may even post things on social media in order to get a response from their celebrity crush.

Well fame is just a fleeting vapor, and it all amounts to nothing unless you follow Jesus. In that case, Sadie Robertson Says, “'Stop obsessing over who follows you and follow Jesus.”

Sadie may know a thing or two about being famous. She also may know a thing or two about obsessing over who is following her on social media. Jesus is the most famous person who ever lived. And Jesus was also considered a celebrity when he was walking the earth. Whenever Jesus got close to a town, rumors about him would spread like wildfire and soon droves of people were following him in order to watch him perform miracles or witness him healing the deaf, dead, blind, and sick.

During a talk at an event, Sadie reminded people that fame isn’t a bad thing, neither is having followers. It becomes wrong when the spotlight on you shines bigger than the light within you. How can such a young woman be on fire and be so wise about Jesus? God has certainly gifted this young woman with a message to reach the next generation! Take a moment to remember who Jesus is in your life and be inspired by her passion for Jesus!!

She reminds us of the day we will finally meet Jesus face to face. She says, “Who are you following? Are you following fame or are you following Jesus? Fame and followers will not give you love and acceptance. You are already loved. You are already cared for. Let's stop obsessing over who is following us and start obsessing over the one we are following: Jesus.”

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ Matthew 7:21-23
