Josh Turner Performs Acoustic Rendition Of 'Long Black Train'

Country superstar Josh Turner performs an acoustic rendition of his smash hit ‘Long Black Train.’

As you listen to these words, be reminded that God is the way, the truth and the light.

“Cause there's victory in the lord I say
Victory in the lord
Cling to the father and his holy name
And don't go riding on that long Black Train”

‘Long Black Train’ was Josh Turner’s breakout single back in 2003. Josh wrote and recorded the tune that spent over 30 weeks on the Billboard charts. Now, Josh is re-recording some of his most famous songs for his latest album, ‘Keepin' It Country: The Hits.’

Today, he’s performing an acoustic version of ‘Long Black Train’ and this is one time that gets better with time.

“Well I can hear the whistle from a mile away
It sounds so good
But I must stay away
That train is a beauty making everybody stare
But its only destination is the middle of nowhere”

On Instagram, Josh shared some personal information about ‘Long Black Train.’ “I am thankful for this song. I wrote it while I was a student attending Belmont University. I never thought anyone would want to hear it and it became my signature song.”

We can all relate to the deep lyrics that speak about temptation and the Devil’s attempt to pry us from the Lord. But when we stand with God, there is no obstacle too big to face.

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
