Singers From 50 Countries Come Together For 'Amazing Grace' Performance

In this inspiring video, singers from 50 countries affected by COVID-19 come together to perform a beautiful rendition of ‘Amazing Grace.’

“Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now I am found, was blind, but now I see.
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear, the hour I first believed.”

The video starts off showing completely empty streets from around the world as text appears on the screen.

“In this time of turmoil, 50 countries unite in one song, in one voice, in one message,” reads the text. Then the video shows a man standing in an empty Times Square in New York City. He starts off singing ‘Amazing Grace.’

Then the video moves to different countries all around the world. From China, to India, to Argentina, to Thailand, to Zambia, and everywhere in between. Each country shows a person or a group of people singing the lyrics to ‘Amazing Grace’ in their own language.

What an incredibly beautiful sight to see so many people singing in their own languages but united in one song!

“So much has changed in our world lately,” the text reads toward the end of the video. “So much loss has caused many to realize how fragile our lives are. But the amazing grace and love of Jesus is stronger than life and death itself. Wherever you are, call on the name of Jesus.”

Then everyone in the video calls out the name of Jesus in their own language.

The final words of the video are “Don’t wait another day.” Then Romans 10:9 is displayed on the screen and the verse is listed in all the different languages that were sung in the video. “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

What an incredibly powerful and beautiful video! And a great reminder that we may all have different languages, but we can all understand each other through the love of Jesus Christ.
