Guest Host Ken Jennings Honors The Late Alex Trebek On Jeopardy

Jeopardy guest host Ken Jennings shares an emotional tribute to Alex Trebek and it has us all wiping away a tear.

In March of 2019, fan-favorite television personality Alex Trebek announced to the world that he had been diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Despite the grim prognosis, he pledged to continue hosting Jeopardy and mustering up all of his strength to defeat the cancer.

For a year and a half, Alex fought with all his might and continued to update his fans throughout the journey. Sadly, Alex lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on November 8, 2020.

One of Alex’s hopes was that Jeopardy would continue to live on past his death. Today, Jeopardy champion Ken Jennings is stepping onto the stage as a temporary guest host. Ken became a household name after achieving the longest winning streak on Jeopardy with 74 consecutive wins. Since that time, he’s returned to the famous stage for various championship contests and to mentor other contestants.

But this time, it’s very different because Alex Trebek is not standing at the podium as host.

Before the competition was underway, Ken had to share a few touching words. “Sharing this stage with Alex Trebek was one of the greatest honors of my life. Not many things in life are perfect, but Alex did this job pretty much perfectly for more than 36 years. “

There is no doubt that Alex left a lasting legacy as one of the greatest game show hosts in history. And his unfailing kindness in the face of opposition will never be forgotten.
