Precious Baby Elephant Plays In Watering Hole
This baby elephant is having a ball at the local watering hole and it is too adorable to miss. This beautiful creature was orphaned, but thanks to some kind folks, he now resides at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi, Kenya.
This rescue organization was founded in 1977 with a mission to help conserve the dwindling elephant and rhino population in Kenya. Dr. Dame Daphne Sheldrick started to organization in honor of her late husband, David Leslie William Sheldrick. David Sheldrick was a founding Warden of Tsavo East National Park, one of the oldest and largest parks in Kenya. Conservation was a major passion for this inspiring man and it is an ideal that transferred to his entire family.
Today, Angela Sheldrick, the daughter of David and Daphne, runs the organization. Because of this family’s incredible efforts, this baby elephant, and many others like him, can enjoy a peaceful life. Just watch as he plays with a soccer ball in the water hole, much to the delight of tourists around him. This big guy is a muddy mess, but it is obvious that he is having the time of his life. There’s even one moment when I can almost see a smile stretch across his face.
Animals are truly a gift from God and it is so amazing to witness them in their natural habitat. With the population of elephants in danger, it is so heartwarming to see organizations, like the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, working to save these incredible creatures.

Today's Devotional
A Prayer for the Door That Was Closed - Your Daily Prayer - April 18
When we’re faced with a closed door, it might be beneficial for us to consider both Adam and Eve’s story, and maybe even cats, too, because God sometimes reveals truth to us through them.
