7-Year-Old Country Boy Sings 'Take Me Home Country Roads' - Staff Picks

There’s no doubt that 7-year-old Shaney-Lee has a special stage presence. This little heartbreaker may be young but he’s definitely got talent well beyond his years. Today, this country singer from the UK is taking his talents all the way to the big stage as he auditions for The Voice Kids UK. Right before the performance, we got to learn a little more about his country boy and it made me love him even more. This cutie lives on a farm and is surrounded by tons of animals. No wonder he decided to go back to his roots for this audition. Just listen as he sings the classic John Denver song 'Take Me Home Country Roads.' As soon as Shaney-Lee steps on stage, the crowd erupts in ‘awws.’ The judges can’t see this little crooner but they know something good must be going on behind their backs. Then, the song starts and everyone starts smiling so big. I was getting a little worried that none of the judges would turn around, judge Pixie Lott hit her button at the very last minute. I was cheering so loud for little Shaney-Lee and Pixie seems super happy with her decision. I just can’t get over how much confidence and personality this little boy has at such a young age. He’s not shy about getting on stage and belting his heart out. I think if he keeps on singing like this, he will be seeing a lot more of Shaney-Lee. Who else agrees that this isn’t the last that we’ll hear from this talented little boy?
