Stu33 - Biography
Formed in 2011, the project STU33 was founded by István Máté (born August 10, 1977 in
Budapest). The band’s name comes from the singer-songwriter’s nickname and age at the
time of the band’s inception.
The Stu33, currently working on their first album, stands its ground in an acoustic or rock
setting equally. A proportionate mixture of poignant folk, psychedelic grunge and catchy pop
characterizes their songs. Stu and his young co-musicians presented the first EP of his current
project ”This Is A Way Of New Start” at KINO Cinema last year. His first EP was success
both between audience and musical professionals. His new songs are mixed in English and
Hungarian Languages. It has made two videos from the EP’s songs. He has regular concerts
in clubs of Budapest.
István Máté
István started his musical studies as a pupil of singer guitarist Iván Folk (former band
member of Tatros), then became gradually well-known as the bandleader of the group
Amnestia. In 2004, after a promising debut in a talent show, their life-affirming pop-rock
songs such as ”Fény” (Light) and ”Rádió” (Radio) became increasingly popular and were
broadcast on several Hungarian radio stations as well as on the national Music Television. In
2009, an extraordinary debut concert was held at a station of the semi-finished Metro 4 with
the participation of blues singer Tamás Takáts.
In 2010, István joined the at-the-back-of-beyond, psychedelic pop funk group called Rakéta.
Despite being active for only two years, they managed to make a name for themselves in
Budapest’s club life and also released an outstanding quality video called ”Mozgó Testek
Kinetikája” (Kinetics of Moving Bodies).
As a next stage of his musician seeking ways was an acoustic performance with a special
atmosphere. His new project, as a solo artist, had become Stu33.
A Prayer When a Situation Seems Impossible - Your Daily Prayer - April 24
My wife has recently painted these words on a wall in our house as a reminder to us both: “Mightier than the waves of the sea, is His love for us!” (Inspired by Psalm 93:4). Please remember this. Mightier than the tempest you are facing is His love for you!
