Daniel Buckingham was born and currently resides in Richmond, VA. Daniel was a leader from an early age. Daniel excelled in his early educational years. However, during his childhood, Daniel experienced many hardships, including the separation of his parents. Daniel continued to deal with struggles, as he moved into his teenage and early adult years, including the death of his Dad. Daniel eventually turned to the streets for survival. Despite the obstacles he faced, Daniel accepted Jesus Christ as his savior, and began to strive to live for him. There were hiccups in the road, loss, and hardships. In spite of those hardships, Daniel has served in several ministries and was ordained.
In 2006, Daniel began to write and record songs, and minister through music at various venues. Daniel founded the short lived rap group GFG (Gangsters For God). Daniel has performed at several churches, community outreach events, as well as Footesteps (a Christian club).
In 2008, Daniel became known as Elder Buck the rapper. This name was based on his nickname “Buck” and Daniel serving as an Elder at a local ministry. Through his music, Elder Buck touches on many of the obstacles, trials, and triumphs that people face in life.
Elder Buck has been highlighted and interviewed by 97.7 FM for the “Strong Woman” single. Recently, Elder Buck was cast in the stage play Turning Over A New Leaf, where he not only acted in the play but ministered the song “Strong Woman”. The “Strong Woman” video was Elder Buck’s first video endeavor, which he directed. The video for “Strong Woman” has been aired on several public access programs. Elder Buck is currently executive producing his CD and has started the production company, Thus Said Productions. Elder Buck’s goal is to reach the drug dealer on the street, as well as the person in the pew.
