Nailin' It to the Church Official Movie Trailer

Religious satire and the gospel according to The Wittenburg Door.

The title of this thought provoking documentary is a reference to Martin Luther nailing his 97 thesis to the door of the church in Wittenburg, Germany in 1517. Is it appropriate to use satire as an accountability measure within the church? Canadian filmmaker, Murray Stiller, features The Wittenburg Door Magazine, in his examination of religious satire. Started in the early 70's by Mike Yakonelli and Wayne Rice, The Door garnered high praise as well as harsh criticism for poking fun at various popular religious figures, particularly certain televangelists.
"The mission of the door is to use humor and satire to hold a mirror before the evangelical church" says Bob Darden, Senior Editor of The Wittenburg Door. "When the magazine is firing on all cylinders, there is a prophetic voice about the magazine's articles."
