Sermon: "Are You Deaf?" Part 2
Some of us who are advancing in age experience a little hearing loss along the way, but we may not notice that our hearing loss may be a metaphor for our spiritual condition as well. Do you really listen to what God has said in his Word, or do you tune out those things that don't quite meet your expectations? Churches and cultures may grow and mature over time to the point that they no longer listen to what God has to say to them. Watch as Pastor MacLaren tells the story of King Ahaz as he stood at the aquaduct in Jerusalem and pondered the terrifying advance of his enemies on his city. God sent his prophet Isaiah to speak to him, but did he listen? This sermon was preached at First Presbyterian Church in Perkasie, PA (www.firstchurchopc.com).

A Prayer for Spending Money - Your Daily Prayer - May 29
No one is immune to the negative hold that money can have on our hearts in plenty or in want. I am a spender. I like to shop and get new things. However, God has taught me throughout my life to pray about my spending and to listen to the still, small voices that lead me in my financial decisions. God desires us to live a life of generosity, putting God before money. We cannot serve both God and money.
