Hymn: "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross," First Presbyterian Church, Perkasie, PA
Join the congregation of First Presbyterian Church in Perkasie, PA (Orthodox Presbyterian) as we sing this very moving hymn reflecting on the cross of Jesus Christ. The hymn is included in the original Trinity Hymnal (#186) which we have in our pews. The author of the hymn is the great Isaac Watts, a prolific English hymn writer of the early 18th century who set the course for Christian hymnody by writing hymns of great personal spirituality as well as doctrinal depth. Leading the hymn is Mr. Joseph Waggoner, a ruling elder at First Presbyterian Church, and Rev. R. Scott MacLaren, the pastor. The hymn was sung on March 4, 2012.
