Trust for the Journey
In this third installment of our Lenten sermon series we encounter one of the best-loved psalms in The Psalter. Psalm 121 begins with the famous words: “I lift up my eyes to the hills…” and reminds us that we can count on God for care and protections. Our message today asks us to think about how this psalm speaks to us in terms of our journey along the Christian Way. It is a difficult journey with many challenges that call us to do things we would not ordinarily choose to do…We must make unselfish choices…We will be inconvenienced…Our comfortable lives will be disrupted. The Good News is that God is there with us, caring for us and helping us with the challenge. Now the question is: Do you really believe that the Lord will keep you from this time on and forevermore? Join us this Lent as we journey to the cross and beyond.

A Prayer of Gratitude for Jesus' Sacrifice This Holy Friday - Your Daily Prayer - March 29
On the Friday of his crucifixion, Jesus faced the wrath of God not for himself but for us. He took on our sin, our shame, and our humiliation. When I think about Jesus' sacrifice, which I would do better to meditate on frequently, I am, more often than not, left speechless.
