Messianic Commentaries from the "Rabbis" about Isaiah 53

This are quotes from Maimonides, and other top "Rabbis" in Judaism who taught that Isaiah 53 is prophecy about the Messiah. Later interpretation due to an anti-Christian bias, caused Rashi and others to interpret this passage out of context as being the 'people of Israel' as the servant. Israel is referred to as God's servant in other parts of Isaiah, but in this part, the context contrasts the people of Israel, with the servant. The servant here is Messiah Yeshua who takes the sins of the world upon Himself.

He atones for the people of Israel, and brings healing by the stripes He took on His back for us.
