With Me In Paradise
Sermon from Sunday, March 1, 2009 - the First Sunday in Lent. This is the 2nd in a series of 7 sermons on the Seven Last Words of Christ. Using the book "Thank God It's Friday" by Bishop Will Willimon as inspiration, I hope to give us some insight into what Jesus tells us in his last words from the cross. This week we deal with the story of the criminal who comes to know Jesus as he takes his last breath. (Luke 23:39-43) Here, Jesus tells us that we can be with Him right now - today - if we will but ask and believe. The promise is clear - no matter what we've done, forgiveness is ours and the Savior waits with open arms to receive us.

If we pursue the things of this world, then it is pointless. We will be chasing after temporary pleasures that lead us nowhere with purpose.
