Catechism: "Jesus' Conception and Birth," First Presbyterian Church, Perkasie, PA. Orthodox

The willingness of the Lord to enter this world and endure the normal human processes of conception and birth shows the great humility that eventually led him to deliver up his life on the cross to save us from our sins. The Lord did not enter a fully developed man and lead him for a time, nor did he enter this world with great applause or attention. No, he entered as a human embryo, conceived in the womb of the virgin Mary, and grew within that womb until the time of his birth. In this way he showed that he is able to save us at every point in life, from the earliest moments of life until our final breath. If the Lord of glory was able to live within the tiny confines of a human embryo, surely he is able to save "the least of these..." Watch as Pastor MacLaren leads this meditation on the Larger Catechism of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church during the Sunday worship service of August 1, 2010, at First Presbyterian Church in Perkasie, PA (www.firstchurchopc.org).
