WHO WILL BE THE HAPPIEST PINOY?










January 26, 2010 � The final judging of The Search for the Happiest Pinoy was held at the Hotel Intercontinental, Makati City. After assessing the submitted nominations which account for 70% of the final scores, members of the esteemed board of judges-Mr. Jose Miguel Jimenez, chief administrative officer of PJ Lhuillier Group of Companies; Prof. Victoria Licuanan, dean of Asian Institute of Management; Mr. Antonio Meloto, chairperson of Gawad Kalinga; Ms. Rebecca Ortega, national coordinator of Brahma Kumaris; Ms. Marixi R. Prieto, chairperson of Philippine Daily Inquirer (represented by Ms. Connie Kalagayan) ; and Dr. Emerlinda Roman, president of University of the Philippines-further delved into the lives of each of the finalists through an extensive panel interview with each nominee. Evaluation results from the panel interview make up 30% of the final score.



Here are some quick facts on the Search for the Happiest Pinoy:



� Since its launch in May 2009, a total of 218 nominations were sent from all over the Philippines.

� 192 entries from Luzon, 19 from Visayas, 7 from Mindanao

� 84 males and 134 females

� 109 entries below 40 years old, 84 below 60, and 19 above 61



The Search for the Happiest Pinoy, which ran from May 5, 2009 to January 8, 2010, will be concluded on February 17, 2010 at the Hotel Intercontinental in a formal awarding ceremony. CNN Hero of the Year Efren Peñaflorida will be the keynote speaker.
