The Sin of Prayerlessness, Part 1 (The Prayer Motivator Devotional #470)
Allow me to share with you some important points regarding this verse from Matthew Henry's Commentary:
We often think one half hour a great deal to spend in meditation and secret prayer, but Christ was whole nights engaged in these duties. In serving God, our great care should be not to lose time, but to make the end of one good duty the beginning of another.
My personal encouragement to you today is this: Here are 4 ways to pray for others --- 1. Realize the person's present exalted position in Christ. 2. Present the person as a living sacrifice. 3. Ask that the person be filled with the Holy Spirit. 4. Ask that God will guide the person to become regular and systematic in the study of God's Word.
Our prayer motivator quote today is from Nehemiah Adams. He said: "A certain joyful, though humble, confidence becomes us when we pray in the Mediator's name. It is due to Him; when we pray in His name it should be without wavering. Remember His merits, and how prevalent they must be. "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace.""
