Well, don't think I really agree with alter calls in the first place, but especially this one where the people are encouraged to come forward for "prayer." What can the pastor's or anyone else's prayers do? We have to realize that we can't do anything, and cannot save anyone! We may know that in our heads, but it isn't being communicated properly...
tapeinos, the answer to your question, the Bible does talk about people that PROFESS to be saved and to know the Lord but do not... Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter." That saying of 'Lord, Lord' is the profession... but it wasn't true, it was just words.
Btw, the Philippians 4:13 is used out of context. God doesn't just give us strength for achieving anything (like running a physical race, and winning)... it's talking about being given strength when you are being oppressed for sharing the gospel.
For example, (assuming this father and son were believers and they claimed Phil 4:13 in the achievement sense) what if there were other believers there who also claimed Phil 4:13? Who would God give strength to win? Two believers claiming the same promise! See, you've got to look at context...
Hebrews 4:2 is a very interesting verse indeed, relating to this idea of the interaction between knowledge and saving faith. It says (NASB)...
"For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard."
Notice the reason why the "word" did not profit them. It was because they did not have faith. Now the "word" would be the knowledge, and that knowledge, or mental assent, was not united with faith, so therefore it was useless.
Hopefully this child will one day repent and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, and stop worshiping His mother.
As it says in Luke 11:27, 28: "While Jesus was saying these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, "Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed." But He said, "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it."
The idea of the antichrist is both a single person at the end and persons now. Obviously anyone that is against Christ would be antichrist ;-). However, scripture explicitly speaks of a single individual in the end times that will deceive. So it is not just talking about one or the other as this video portrays, but it is both ideas. The speaker is confusing rather than helping the issue.
